As 2024 draws to a close and we look to the New Year, the Antonelli team is hard at work planning for what 2025 will bring; and there are some very exciting plans in motion.

First and foremost, we’re thrilled to reveal that we are greatly expanding our range of La Preferita ingredients available to our customers from 2025.

What is the La Preferita product range?

Established in 1955, La Preferita are Italian gelato royalty. With products rooted in tradition and uncompromising quality, we will be supporting our clients to bring that extra touch of class and sophistication to the ice cream and gelato offering through La Preferita’s unparalleled ingredients.

Fondly referred to as the ‘posh cousin’ to the innovative Comprital range, La Preferita focuses on delivering sophisticated, clean-label products with no artificial flavours, colours, or emulsifiers. This range is particularly special for its emphasis on world-class expertise in nut-based ingredients, which is celebrated by ice cream artisans worldwide.

Included in the product range

Of course, as specialists in quality nut pastes La Preferita’s product range includes the whole spectrum of nut flavours, such as: hazelnut, pistachio, almond, walnut and macadamia, all of which will elevate any gelato recipe.

Pastes

While nuts take centre stage, the La Preferita range also introduces traditional Italian-inspired flavoured pastes, including:

  • White coffee (which includes actual coffee beans to ensure the flavour is constantly infusing)
  • Tiramisu
  • Ricotta
  • Nougat
  • Vanilla including Bourbon, Madagascan and Papua New Guinean

Natural fruit ripples

For those seeking a burst of fruity indulgence, La Preferita offers a range of vibrant, natural fruit ripples, including:

  • Amarena Cherry
  • Mandarin
  • Sicilian Cassata: A citrus-forward combination of candied fruits and zesty Sicilian flavours.

Furthermore, customers will also be able to indulge on cream ripples, including vanilla croquant (a vanilla cream ripple with fat coated crepe pieces), as well as Gianduia paste and Grancrok, that many of you may have already sampled when creating our iconic Winter recipes.

Of course, if you haven’t already sampled La Preferita then we will be showcasing the range at February’s Ice Cream and Artisan Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham this coming February.

As we head into the new year, the expansion of our La Preferita range highlights our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of ice cream businesses in the UK. By offering a broader, higher-quality range of ingredients, we aim to continue to inspire the creation of truly exceptional gelato.
